Exhibition series at restaurant KOMMOD, Vienna

In addition to her artistic practice, Steffi Parlow works as a chief at restaurant KOMMOD. Since 2019 she has been presenting there various artist positions in the exhibition series “Dark blue smells salty, yellow tastes bitter.” In parallel to each artistic position, Christina Unteregger, Stephan Stahl (operators) and Steffi Parlow provide an additional intermediate course based on the artists
over the duration of the exhibition. “Fish finger 2020” were served for Daniel Steiner.

Daniel Steiner’s gaze almost always shows a snapshot. He senses situations not only in his hometown Vienna, but also on his travels. He often approaches urban scenes and people through direct dialogue. Steiner only takes photos with analog cameras. The negative is in his understanding the original and not reproducible.

Daniel Steiner was born in 1985 in Vienna (AT). For 10 years he has been taking photos with analog cameras in the streets of Vienna and on his travels.
He lives and works as a chief in Vienna.
